Travelling
by barge and bicycle is a great way to explore the countryside of Northern
Italy. Sleep on a barge as it makes its way along the River Po and each day
enjoy
guided cycling on quiet roads and cycle paths. This holiday offers a unique opportunity to experience the
North of Italy.
After exploring the enchanting Renaissance town of Mantua, considered
Italy’s “sleeping beauty”, the barge gently wends its way along the majestic Po.
Cycling along waterways, through hamlets and into surprising Ferrara, you
reach the Po Delta, a unique wet-land park which is the prime reserve in
Europe for waterfowl. The Po then flows into the Venetian lagoon where a stop
will be Chioggia, known as “little Venice”. Last, you’ll be welcomed by
wonderful Venice.
