River Loire in France. En route we visit castles and vineyards. There is
also the option of simply staying on board the boat to enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Included: Seven nights accommodation in two-berth cabin
with shower and toilet, breakfast,
lunch and dinner daily, bike rental, guided cycling, transfer from/to Gare du Nord
in Paris.
Meeting point: Gare du Nord, Paris.
Itinerary
Day One: Transfer from Paris Gare du Nord (depart
approximately 3.30 pm) by coach to Plagny/Rogny-les-Sept-Ecluses.
Meet the barge crew and your guide. Dinner.
Day Two: From Plagny to La Chapelle- Montlinard. Travel by
boat at first crossing two locks and then cycle to Apremont and
visit the 12th century castle and its fabulous gardens. (31 miles -
moderate terrain)
Day Three: Cycle to La Charite-sur-Loire. This is an ancient
Roman town. Then continue to the Pouilly-Fume wine region. In
Menetreol, under the Sancerre vineyards, we sample some wines.
(34 miles - some hills).
Day Four: Start with a visit to Sancerre and then follow a
picturesque route through the vineyards to Beaulieu where we stop for the
night ( 34 miles - some hills),
Day Five: Cycle past the historic locks of
Chatillon-sur-Loire and the aqueduct. After St Brisson though the Foret
(forest) of St Brisson. In the evening cross the Loire River through the
magnificent aqueduct and stop for the night at Briare. (27 miles)
Day Six: Time to explore Briare then cycle to Castle
Pont Chevron. Via Ousouer-sur-Trezee you cycle through a lake area to the
16th century castle near Bleneau. The days ends in the village of
Rogny-les-Sept-Ecluses. (31 miles moderate terrain)
Day Seven: Cycle to the market
in Chatillon-Coligny and then to the castle in La Bussiere. Via
Escrignelles the day ends at the barge in Chatillon-coligny (34
miles - moderate terrain)
Day Eight: 11.00 am return coach to Paris.
