Day
1: Arrival in Salzburg
Take time to enjoy a stroll around this lovely city,
famous as Mozart's birthplace and for it's wonderful
baroque buildings.
Day
2: Salzburg to Gosau 28-42
miles by bike, 28 miles by bus
Start with a relaxing ride alongside the River Salzach.
You can take a short detour to the famous Hellbrunn
Castle, before a break in the pretty towns of Hallein or
Kuchl. Continue to Golling where you’ll be transferred
by coach to the breathtaking Lake Gosau. A short
downhill cycle takes you to your hotel.

3: Gosau to Bad Aussee 9 miles
by bike, 13 miles by train
Cycle along the lake shore to the historic town of
Hallstatt. Visit the fascinating salt mines, before
continuing to the Dachstein Ice Caves at Abertraun, a
World Heritage Site and one of Austria’s most
incredible natural monuments. Continue to your hotel in
Bad Aussee by bicycle or train.

4: Bad Aussee to St Wolfgang
35 miles Catch the train to Steeg and then
cycle to Bad Ischl and the pretty town of St Wolfgang.
You will have plenty of time this afternoon to explore
or enjoy a swim in the crystal clear waters of the lake.

5: St Wolfgang to Traunkirchen
27 miles Follow the shore of the lake to
Strobl, before continuing along the River Traun towards
Bad Ischl. Stop here to visit the "Kaiser
Villa" or for a delicious cake from the famous
Zauner cafè. Continue beside the river to Ebensee and
to the village of Traunkirchen where you stay the night.

6: Traunkirchen to Attersee or Attergau
34 miles Catch the morning ferry to the town
of Gmunden, famous for its ceramics. From here you cycle
to pretty Lake Attersee where you can enjoy a relaxing
swim.
Day
7: Attersee or Attergau to Salzburg
42 miles Today's route takes you first to
Lake Mondsee; take time to stop and admire the Mondsee
Cathedral. From here you cycle along the former track of
the Ischlerbahn railway, which brings you back to your
starting point in Salzburg.
