2011  Cornwall Coastal Path
North and South Sections

 

HF guided walking holidays cover two sections of the famous South West Coast Path National Trail. On both walks we stay at the same hotel in St Ives for the week and each day are taken by private coach to start and end the day's walk.

NORTH CORNWALL COAST PATH: Battered by the Atlantic waves, north Cornwall has some of England's most rugged coastal scenery.  Imposing  cliffs, ruined tin mines and brilliant sandy coves all add to the drama of this walk from Cape Cornwall to Treyarnon Bay.         64 miles  9 - 13 miles and up to 1820 ft of ascent per day.

Itinerary: NORTH CORNWALL COAST PATH - GUIDED TRAIL
Day 1: arrival day.
Day 2: starting from Cape Cornwall, pass the Levant Tin Mine and dramatic scenery as we walk to Gurnard’s Head.
Day 3: enjoy more superb coastal views from the north coast en route to Zennor village and St Ives.
Day 4: walk around the sweeping sands of St Ives Bay to the lighthouse at Godrevy Point and the harbour village of Portreath.
Day 5: over the cliffs to St Agnes Head and the superb beach at Perranporth.
Day 6: cross the broad expanse of Perran Sands and Kelsey Head to the resort of Newquay.
Day 7: complete the walk following the Atlantic coast to Treyarnon Bay.
Day 8: departure day.

SOUTH CORNWALL COAST PATH:  Enjoy the varied southern coastline following the splendid cliff-top path from Cape Cornwall to Manaccan.  Cornwall's jagged headlands, sun-kissed beaches and traditional fishing villages combine to form this most idyllic of coastal scenes. 65  miles  8- 13 miles and up to 2075 ft of ascent each day.

Itinerary:  SOUTH CORNWALL COAST PATH - GUIDED TRAIL
Day 1: arrival day.
Day 2: from Cape Cornwall, round the famous headland of Land’s End following the coast path to Porthcurno.
Day 3: follow the southern coast to Lamorna Cove and the quaint village of Mousehole.
Day 4: omitting the urban section through Penzance, we walk along the cliffs from Marazion to Porthleven harbour with views of St Michael’s Mount.
Day 5: past Loe Pool and beautiful Kynance Cove to Lizard Point.
Day 6: around the southern tip of England to the charming fishing villages of Cadgwith and Coverack.
Day 7: along the coastal path to the wooded creeks of the Helford River and Helford village.
Day 8: departure day.

HotelCHY MORVAH , meaning "house by the sea" in Cornish, is an appropriate name for this seaside hotel.  From the panoramic lounge and the dining room, the view stretches across the golden sands of St Ives Bay. There is a heated outdoor pool in the grounds.
