FURNESS WAY

This trail across the southern Lake District, from the shores of Morecambe Bay to the Irish Sea, is a journey of immense scenic beauty. Walking mainly in the old Furness region of Lancashire, you’ll enjoy sweeping estuaries, rolling fells and beautiful Lakeland valleys

76 miles with 11-14 miles and usually up to 1,900ft of ascent in a day (one day of 3,000ft).

Itinerary: GUIDED TRAIL WALK
Day 1: arrival day.
Day 2: from the sands of Morecambe Bay at Arnside to Sizergh Castle and Brigsteer.
Day 3: enjoy panoramic views over the southern Lake District from Whitbarrow Fell on the walk to Lindale.
Day 4: through limestone countryside to Greenodd.
Day 5: walk along the undulating fells above Coniston Water to Monk Coniston.
Day 6: follow the Walna Scar Pass through the Coniston Fells to Duddondale, before continuing to the head of Eskdale.
Day 7: along beautiful Eskdale and over Muncaster Fell to the sea at Ravenglass.
Day 8: departure day.

Accommodation at HF Holidays’ own Country House at Conistonwater, with transport to and from the route provided each day. All meals included.
