The Dordogne region of France lies in the south-west near Bordeaux. It is one of the most romantic areas of France with pre-historic cave-dwellings, feudal chateaux, lofty churches, tranquil country scenery. The holidays are based for a week at the medieval town of Sarlat.

2009 Dates: Classic Walking Holidays start on Saturdays from May 02  to May 30 and from Aug 22 to Sept 12.

Walking: Two levels of walking are offered each day.

  •    Harder walks      4.5 -10.5 miles.        350 - 1,425 ft of ascent over a day.
  •     Easier walks       3 - 6.5 miles               200 - 900 ft of ascent over a day.
Hotel: LE RELAIS DE MOUSSIDIERE.
 Situated in tranquil countryside, just over a mile from the centre of Sarlat, the three-star Relais de Moussidiere is a delightful and relaxing place to stay.  Built in a traditional style around an old manor house, it has 35 en-suite bedrooms, a bar, dining rooms and an attractive terrace and outdoor pool.  A warm welcome and local French cuisine will add to a memorable holiday.
