The extraordinarily beautiful scenery of Madeira provides walkers with constant variety. The walks follow some of Madeira's levadas, specially constructed watercourses, through banana plantations and across hillsides with panoramic views of the countryside and the sea beyond. Two thirds of the island is assigned as a conservation area and rare flora and fauna abound.

Walks along Madeira's cliff-top paths on the dramatic northern coast.

Walking:
Two levels of walking are offered each day.

  •    Harder walks     8 - 11 miles.              up to 1950 ft of ascent over a day.
  •    Easier  walks     5.5 - 9 miles              up to   700 ft of ascent over a day.

This superbly located hotel is set in the hills above Serra de Agua, a world away from the bustle of the coastal towns.  From the veranda you can gaze down over the terraced hillsides and lush gardens, soaking up the tranquility of this exclusive mountain retreat.  The 21 en-suite bedrooms are very well-appointed and situated in either the main house or a modern and attractive garden building.   Rooms have private bath.
