Southern Tuscany, Italy SAN QUIRICO d'ORCIA  2012

The base for this holiday is the ancient medieval village of San Quirico in the Orcia valley amid the landscape of green and golden hills for which Tuscany is famous. Walks are amid peaceful farms and vineyards with many historic villages.

Prices are per person for one week based on double occupancy without flights.
Supplement for a single room 9 GBP per night. 
Allow approx 95 euros for transport to and from the walks.
Non-member associate fee is 5 GBP per person.

Walking: Two levels of walking are offered each day.

  •    Harder walks        8 - 10 miles.           up to 1,600 ft of ascent over a day.
  •     Easier walks        5 - 7 miles              up to  920 ft of ascent over a day.
. Hotel:  ALBERGO PALAZZUOLO. Built around an original farmhouse, this attractive three-star hotel fits seamlessly into the rolling Tuscan countryside.  In the modern part of the hotel there are 39 en-suite bedrooms, many of which look out over the gardens and outdoor pool.  Local Tuscan traditions are much in evidence in the hotel restaurant and in the architectural elegance of San Quirico's historic walled centre, just a few minutes' walk away.
