Derbyshire is centrally located in the heart of England and offers beautiful countryside with limestone gorges (dales), green fields and flower-studded pastures.  The region has an interesting industrial past with many romantic stories. Discover the quaint local custom of "well-dressing" in small villages. Visit famous Chatsworth House and gardens or the plague village of Eyam. 

2010 Dates: Classic Walking Holidays start every Saturday from May to October. Walkers stay at the same hotel for seven nights. Days start and end with a short bus ride so the walks are in the most spectacular parts of the island.  Three different guided walks are offered each day. You choose according to your fitness and ability.

Prices are per person for one week based on double occupancy.
Above prices are for summer high season and will be slightly lower in spring and fall.
Single rooms are available at a supplement of 7 GBP per night.
Premium Rooms have a supplement of 5 GBP per person per night..

Walking:  A choice of three guided walks is offered each day.

  •    Easier walks         5.5 – 8.5 miles.    up to 750 ft of ascent in a day.
  •     Medium  walks      9 - 10.5 miles      up to 1,075 ft of ascent in a day 
  •     Harder walks        11.5 -12.5 miles  up to 1,525 ft of ascent in a day.
Hotel: NEWTON HOUSE lies at the heart of the Peak District's Derbyshire Dales amid a picturesque landscape of rolling pastures and dry-stone walls.  This 18th century former coaching inn adjoins the Tissington Trail.  There are 28 bedrooms in the main building and in tastefully converted rooms across the courtyard. All meals are included.
