Stay for a week at lovely Selworthy in the Exmoor National Park near the coast of the Bristol Channel. Walk amid quaint villages with thatched roofed cottages and over Moorland long associated with Lorna Doone or on ancient coastal foot-paths. Nearby Dunster is one of England’s most perfect small towns with a 600 year old castle and a working water-mill. Discover Parracombe Church, a rare medieval building and an Iron Age fort.

2012 Walking Holidays : Classic Walking Holidays operate weekly starting every Saturday from May through October. Walkers stay at the same hotel for seven nights. Days start and end with a short bus ride so the walks are in the most spectacular parts of the island.  Three different guided walks are offered each day. You choose according to your fitness and ability.

Walking: All guided walks take in coast, wooded valleys and moorland on good although sometimes muddy paths. A choice of three daily guided walks are offered.

• Easier walks:       6  -  7.5 miles with gentle gradients. Up to 900 ft of ascent over a day.
• Medium walks:    7.5  - 9.5 miles. Undulating and occasional steep. Up to 1425 ft of ascent.
• Harder walks:      10  - 12.5 miles. Undulating with steep sections.  Up to 2275 ft of ascent.
  

  Hotel:  HOLNICOTE HOUSE. Once home to the distinguished Acland family, Holnicote House lies at the heart of a 12,500 acre estate in the Exmoor National Park, with superb walks on the doorstep. This delightful historic building is set amidst peaceful gardens with extensive lawns and a heated  outdoor pool.  There are 35 bedrooms located in the main building and in the attractive Butlers and Guns cottages in the grounds.   All meals are included.
