This
is "Heartbeat" country. The North York Moors, located in
North-Eastern England, are a large tract of heather moors interrupted by
valleys of rural calm. Eastward they extend to the coast where we walk
through small fishing villages including Robin Hood’s Bay. Among the
moors lie small stone cottages and the beautiful monastic ruins of
Rievaulx Abbey. Superb walking trails are over former railway lines and
packhorse trails where ancient stone crosses mark the routes used by
travelers for centuries. Our base is at Whitby, an interesting fishing
port with a ruined abbey and a Captain Cook museum.
2010 Dates: Classic Walking
Holidays start Saturdays from May through October. Price: 649
GBP (High Season) Walking: A choice of three guided walks is offered each day. |
