BRECON BEACONS  

 

Explore the four mountain regions of the Brecon Beacons National Park.  Walk to the dramatic waterfalls of the Hepste, Melte and Nedd Fechan valleys.  Ascent the distinctive summits of Pen y Fan and Corn Du.  Visit the bookshops of Hay-on-Wye or the tranquil Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal.

2012 Walking Holiday dates: Classic Walking Holidays start on Saturdays from May to September. Walkers stay at the same hotel for a week.

Prices:   High season   675 GBP   per person for one week based on double.
Single room supplement is 8 GBP per night.
Premium room supplement is 5 GBP per person per night.
Non-member associate fee is 5 GBP per person.

.Walking: Each day there is a choice of three guided walks:
                  
 Easier walks       5.5 - 8.5 miles       up to 1125 ft of ascent in a day.   
                          Medium walks   7.5 - 10.5 miles    up to  2025 ft of ascent in a day.      
                         
                          Harder walks      10.5 - 12.5 miles over mountains and high moorland.  Up to
                                                    3300 ft of ascent in a day.                

NYTHFA HOUSE:  is a charming Country House, located on the edge of the town of Brecon within easy reach of many fine walking areas.  In this quiet setting you can relax in the attractive gardens or the conservatory with its abundant grapevines or make use of the indoor swimming pool.  There are 31 en-suite bedrooms in the main house and in the grounds. All meals are included with a cooked or continental breakfast, generous self-select picnic lunch and three-course evening meal.
