Northumbria in England's north-east has one of the country's most magnificent  coasts, with sweeps of sand punctuated by fishing villages and castles including Dunstanburgh, Bamburgh and Alnwick. Hadrian's Wall is here and the Holy Isle of Lindisfarne founded in 635.

2009 Dates: Classic Walking Holidays start  from March – November . Walkers stay at the same hotel for a week. Most days start and or end with a short bus ride so we walk only in the most spectacular regions.

Prices are per person for one week based on double.
Above prices are for summer high season. Prices are slightly lower in spring and fall. A few single rooms are available at NO extra charge.
Premium Single & Twin Room Supplement: 5 GBP per person per night.


Walking: Each day there is a choice of three guided walks:
             
 Easier walks        6 – 8 miles        minimal – 500 ft of ascent over a day.
                    Medium walks     8 – 10 miles     minimal – 1500 ft of ascent over a day.
                  
 Harder Walks     10 – 13 miles     minimal - 2300 ft of ascent.

Hotel:  NETHER GRANGE occupies a wonderful position in the quiet harbour village of Alnmouth.  From the elevated croquet lawn and terrace you can enjoy sweeping views across the golf links to the sea.  The building began life as a granary and  in its current guise as a comfortable Country House, has 29 bedrooms, mostly en-suite, retaining much of its old character.  With a peaceful atmosphere and beautiful unspoiled coastline to enjoy a relaxing stay is assured.
