Kenya provides some of the best big game viewing on earth. Combined with a walking itinerary conducted by experienced local guides this is a tour to fill the senses.

Walking: The emphasis is on walking and wildlife viewing with walks on 8 of the 13 days.  Many walks are of 3-4 hours, mostly on easy terrain and led by local, knowledgeable guides.

Hotels:  We stay in comfortable lodges and luxury safari camps brimming with character.  All are en-suite (except for Treetops, a tree hotel with communal bathrooms) and have a high standard of meals and facilities.  It is possible to take walks directly from several of the lodges. Included: 12 nights accommodation in en-suite accommodation. All meals from breakfast on day 2 to lunch on day of departure.  Internal flights.  Services of a local guides.  Walks, sightseeing, entrance fees and travel by coach or minibus.
Itinerary:
 
Day 1: Nairobi - 1 night
Arrival in Nairobi .
 

Days 2 & 3: Nyeri - 2 nights
Transfer to Nyeri and Sangare Tented Camp.  Here we will enjoy our first African game walks, encountering giraffe, zebra, antelopes and lovely bird life, with views of the Aberdares Valley and Mount Kenya.

Day 4: Solio Ranch and Treetops (Aberdare NP) - 1 night
An early drive takes us to Solio Ranch which has the world's largest concentration of black rhinos. We spend a night at the renowned Treetops where it is possible to see elephant, buffalo, rhino and other big game below the balconies of the tree hotel.

Days 5 & 6: Lake Elementaita - 2 nights
Transfer to Lake Elementaita in Africa's Rift Valley. Our walks visit a Masai village and the unmatched scenic beauty of the alkaline lake, with hot springs nearby and surrounded by Kikopey Hills.

Days 7 - 9: Lake Naivasha - 3 nights
A morning drive via the colourful Naivasha market takes us to Lake Naivasha. This is the region of the giant Yellow-baked Acacia and Euphorbia, with Lake Naivasha forming a scenic backdrop. We walk on Crescent Island where over 200 species of birds have been recorded. At the Crater Lake Game Sanctuary we have the chance to see acrobatic Colobus monkeys as well as eland, giraffe and zebra. In Hell's Gate National Park, where we find true African Savannah we will walk amidst giraffe, warthog and gazelle.

Days 10 - 12: Masai Mara - 3 nights
Arguably the best Kenyan wildlife is seen at Masai Mara and we spend three days devoted to game viewing from our hotel base. All the big game is found here, including lions, and our drives provide perfect opportunities to witness the fascinating world of these marvellous animals. A short hike along the Talek River brings us the reward of seeing small game and birdlife as well as a final visit to a typical 'manyatta' or homestead of the local people.

Day 13: Transfer to Nairobi
Short morning flight to Nairobi with the afternoon free for last-minute shpping prior to the evening flight home.
