A holiday bursting with adventure in the spectacular mountain kingdom of Nepal - ancient cities of the Kahtmandu Valley, the massive Annapurna mountains and the rich wildlife of Royal Chitwan Safari Park.

Guided Walks:  Distances are between 4 and 8 miles with a maximum ascent of about 2,700 ft. Paths are easy to follow though rough at times.  On the Annapurna trekking option there will be six hours walking on most days at altitudes of up to 8,000 ft.

Hotels: Stay in a collection of good quality and well-located 3 and 4 star resort hotels and lodges with good facilities. The Balthali Village Resort is a relaxing retreat in a walker's paradise.  On the Annapurna trek we camp in relative luxury with full trekking facilities and a team of porters.  Included: All prices are per person and include:  15 nights accommodation in  en-suite rooms or in twin-bedded tents on trekking option.  Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner from dinner on arrival until breakfast on departure. All internal flights.  Services of local guides, trek support staff on the trekking option and an HF Holidays' leader.   Walks, sightseeing, entrance fees and travel by minibus or coach.
Itinerary:
 

Day 1: Depart UK

Days 2 - 3: Arrive Kathmandu - 2 nights
Arrive Kathmandu.  We visit the historic parts of the city, the Kathmandu Valley and the Shivapuri National Park.

Day 4:  Bhaktapur - 1 night
Walk to the serene surrounding of Nagi Gompa and on a ridge with views of the paddy fields of the Kathmandu Valley, pine forests and the Bagmatti River.  We then travel tot he medieval city of Bhaktapur with time to explore. 


Day 5 - 6: Nagarkot - 2 nights
After a morning in Bhakthapur we head to our hilltop retreat at Nagarkot with its panoramic views of the eastern Himalayas.  A choice of walks take us through friendly villages, on the old trade route to Tibet.

Day 7: Panauti - 3 nights.
After witnessing sunrise over the Himalayans we follow the path to Nala through jungle with diverse flora and fauna. We continue to Panauti and the serene and relaxing Balthali Village Resort ( 3 nights ).

Day 8 - 9 
Our walks take us into the heart of traditional Nepal, through pristine scenery, preety villages and along fast moving rivers.  Visit the Namo Buddha Stupa, on the holiest Buddhist sites in Nepal and ascend to Pada Gaun for excellent Himalayan views. 

Days  10: Patan -  1 night
Walk in the valley near the confluence of the Roshi and Ladku Khola rivers, and continue to Patan.

Days 11 - 12: Hattiban - 2 nights
Enjoy a walking tour of Patan, known for its art and architecture, and an afternoon walk to the 16th Century town of Bungamati.  We then continue to Hattiban for a wonderful walk to the summit of Champa Devi. 

Days 13 & 14: Ghandruk  - 2 nights
Fly to Pokhara and then walk to Ghandruk with its labyrinth of alleys and traditional houses. We'll walk to Tumrung Dhara for spectacular views of the Annapurnas.
 

Day 15: Pokhara - 1 night
Travel to Pokhara where we visit David's Falls and take a boat trip on Phewa lake.

Day 16: Kathmandu - 1 night
Enjoy a morning walk in the Pokhara Valley.  Afternoon flight to Kathmandu for further sightseeing and a farewell dinner.
