The Rockies are one of the world's greatest mountain destinations.  Snow-capped peaks tower above amethyst lakes, waterfalls cascade down sheer cliffs, whilst elk and moose roam freely in green alpine valleys.

Guided Walks: Walks range from level lakeside circuits to trails of up to 8.5 miles and 1,000 ft of ascent.  On some days there is also the option of a harder walk of up to 10 miles and 2,000 ft of ascent.

Hotels:  Modern hotels and lodges with comfortable accommodation and good facilities. Included:  13 nights' accommodation in twin-bedded en-suite rooms.  All meals from dinner on arrival to lunch on departure excluding one dinner.  Services of two knowledgeable tour directors.  Walks, sightseeing, entrance fees and travel by air-conditioned coach or minibus.

Vancouver to the
Rockies itinerary
 

Days 1 - 3: Vancouver - 3 nights
Arrive Vancouver and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and a cruise among the Gulf Islands on a full-day visit to Victoria and Vancouver Island.

Day 4: Kamloops - 1 night
Walk through fascinating semi-arid landscapes on the way to Kamloops.

Days 5 - 6: Jasper National Park- 2 nights
A spectacular drive through British Columbia to Spahats Falls and Mount Robson take us to Jasper National Park. Walks in the Valley of the Five Lakes lead to a series of exquisite jade-coloured pools.

Days 7 - 9: Baker Creek - 3 nights
On to Baker Creek in Banff National Park, via the vast Athabasca Glacier and a walk around magical Lake Louise with forays into Yoho National Park.

Days 10 - 12: Banff - 3 nights
Explore the outstanding alpine scenery of Moraine Lake before continuing to the attractive resort of Banff where wildlife includes elk, chipmunks and numerous species of birdlife. We also follow the trails through Johnston Canyon to the strikingly colourful 'Ink Pot' pools.

Days 13 - 14: Calgary - 1 night
Final walks lead to emerald coloured Grassi Lakes and then a drive across the plains to Calgary, with time to explore the city before the return flight.

Day 1: Calgary - 1 night
Arrive in Calgary in Alberta.

Days 2 - 5: Banff - 4 nights
Along the Trans Canada Highway to Banff for walks to Helen Lake or the snout of the mightly Stanley Glacier, plus a free day to explore independently.

Days 6 - 8: Baker Creek - 3 nights
Continue to Baker Creek via Lake Louise, a perfect aquamarine pool surrounded by mountains and glaciers. Walks in this area, such as the ascent of Ben Beehive, reward us with views down over the lake and the Valley of the Ten Peaks.

Days 9 - 11: Jasper National Park - 3 nights
To Jasper National Park, a fascinating wilderness of glacier fed lakes, rushing rivers and snow-capped mountains.

Days 12 - 13: Kananaskis - 2 nights
Enjoy walks in the pristine mountains and alpine valleys of Kananaskis one of the Rockies hidden gems. Our walks head for the aptly named Ptarmigan Cirque and ascend into a high mountain valley and the impressive natural amphitheatre of the Little Highwood Pass.

Day 14: Final day
Time for final walks or sightseeing before returning to Calgary and the flight home.
