Independent walking holidays - Escape to the Pembrokeshire Coast and immerse yourself in the stunning beauty of a landscape filled with unspoilt golden beaches, charming fishing villages, and a vast array of wildlife. Discover magnificent solitude as we journey to our final destination, magical St Davids, Britain’s smallest city.

Grade:                     44½ miles. 10 ½ -12 miles per day with a daily ascents of 420-770ft, with one day of  1,600ft.

Day 1: Arrival day

Day 2: Dale to Martin’s Haven
10.5 miles, 17km, 125m ascent and descent

Enjoy splendid coastal views as you walk along the cliff tops. Stunning beaches line your way from Dale to Martin’s Haven, including beautiful unspoilt Marloes Sands (we strongly recommend an extra day at Marloes for wildlife enthusiasts, to visit Skomer Island).

Day 3: Martin’s Haven to Broad Haven*
11 miles, 17.7 km, 225m ascent and descent

Past craggy cliffs towards Musselwick Sands and the lovely red rock cove of St. Bride’s Haven. After Borough Head, the path takes you to the pretty village of Little Haven, popular for its delicious restaurants. Your walk today finishes in Broad Haven, a lovely village with sandy beaches nestled between the cliffs.

Day 4: Walk from Broad Haven* to Solva
11 miles, 17.7km, 500m ascent and descent

From Broad Haven the Pembrokeshire Coast Path takes you along the cliff tops to the lovely beach at Druidston Haven. From there you continue to the famous Newgale Sands, with over two and a half miles of stunning beaches. Complete your walk with a well deserved visit to a teashop in the quaint harbour village of Solva.

Day 5: Walk from Solva to Whitesands Bay
12 miles, 19.2km, 230m ascent and descent

Today is a journey discovering the historic places that featured in the life of St. David. At St. Non’s Bay you pass the remains of the chapel where St. David was born, before continuing to Porth Clais, the harbour where he was baptised. Enjoy impressive views of Ramsey Island nature reserve, before finishing today with easy walking to the lovely beach at Whitesands Bay.

Day 6: Free day to explore St. Davids and Ramsey or Skomer Island

Time to explore the magical city of St. Davids. Be sure to visit the magnificent cathedral, an important pilgrimage site since the Middle Ages. Alternatively why not enjoy a mini walk around St. David’s Head or take a boat trip to Ramsey Island. The island boasts a wealth of marine life. You can also visit Skomer Island, another fascinating haven of marine and bird-life.
