Independent walking holidays - The Cornish Coastal Path
England's longest and many say finest footpath is the South West Peninsula Coastal Path. This one week walk explores the most scenic part on either side of Lizard Head, the most southernmost tip of Britain. The great thing about Cornwall is that it enjoys the mildest climate in Britain. 

On this holiday accommodation for seven nights is at the HF Holidays hotel in St Ives. Each day you are transported to the start of the walk and picked up at the end of the day to return to St Ives.

Day 1: Arrival day in St Ives

Day 2: St Ives to Gurnards Head
13.6km, 8.5miles, 1,820ft ascent
  Leaving St Ives we walk along the south west coast path towards Zennor Head, watching out for seals at the Carracks. A brief excursion to Zennor, before our journey finishes at Gurnard’s Head.

Day 3: Gurnards Head to Pendeen Watch
8.8km, 5.5miles, 1,370ft ascent
  Hilly paths take us past Porthmeor Cove, Bosigran Cliff and the Bosigran Iron Age Cliff Castle, to Pendeen Watch. Our route is steeped in the history of the Cornish Tin Coast, with old chimneys, engine houses, and forts abound.

Day 4: Pendeen Watch to Sennen Cove
14.4km, 9 miles, 1,860ft ascent
Explore the history and traditions of the area, with a detour to the Geevor Tin Mine, before reaching picture-postcard Levant, one of the most famous Cornish scenes. Classic Cornish cliff walking now, en route to Cape Cornwall, before a gentle finale to Whitesand Bay & the petite fishing harbour of Sennen Cove.

Day 5: A free day to explore St Ives 

Day 6: Sennen Cove to Porthcurno (Minack Theatre)
10.4km, 6.5miles, 1,850ft ascent
  Traverse granite cliffs to the modern Land’s End, and continue over some of the most spectacular stretches of Britain’s coastline. The coast path takes us along to the Minack theatre. Take in an afternoon show at this delightful open air theatre, or come back in the evening for a night-time performance.

Day 7: Porthcurno to Mousehole
13.2km, 8.25miles, 1,650ft ascent
  Leaving Porthcurno we climb up to Treryn Dinas, before we drop down to the unspoilt Penberth Cove. A short section through luxuriant vegetation before returning to approach Lamorna Cove and Mousehole. Ample time to explore this delightful harbour, before a transfer to your evening’s accommodation.
