ITINERARY:
Day 1: Arrival in Vicenza
and take a little time to get to know this lovely city known
for its Palladio architecture.
Day 2: Vicenza to Bassano del Grappa
Pick up your bicycle this morning and begin your tour to the
town of Marostica, with its castle and Chess Square. Continue
to the charming town of Bassano del Grappa. (25 miles)
Day 3: Bassano del Grappa to Treviso
Cycle amidst the Prosecco vineyards and visit Villa Barbaro -
a famous Palladio villa. In Treviso explore the tiny streets
and canals that criss-cross the city. (39 miles)
Day 4: Treviso to Mestre
Follow the old waterway from Treviso to Mestre where we spend
the night. It is a short train into the beautiful city of Venice. (24 miles)
Day 5: Venice to Chioggia
Catch a ferry to the narrow island of the Lido and cycle along
the seashore before taking another ferry to Pellestrina
island. A motor boat then transfers us to Chioggia - a
miniature Venice filled with cobblestone streets, canals and a
well-known fish market. (21 miles)
Day 6: Chioggia to Padua
Cycling along ancient navigable canals, you arrive at the
Riviera del Brenta, famous for the beautiful Villa Pisani with
its maze and gardens, and Padua, known for its university. (38
miles)
Day 7: Padua to Vicenza
Visit the beautiful Scrovegni Chapel before leaving Padua and
cycling on passing Villa Rorunda and Villa Valmarana with its
wonderful frescoes. End in
Vicenza. (30 miles)
