GREAT HOTELS                 SMALL GROUP               LEISURELY PACE                 EXPERT GUIDES

We invite you to join us exploring the very best of Tuscany. This is the land of Medici princes and famous artists, of great wines, wonderful food and balmy climate. The landscape is a tapestry of rich colours, vineyards dripping in purple, cobalt sky and palazzos that turn to gold in the evening sun.

We spend three nights exploring the historical and artistic treasures of bustling Florence including a visit to the Uffizzi Gallery with an expert guide.  This is followed by five nights in the old walled city of Siena - one of the most perfectly preserved medieval towns in Italy. Its narrow cobbled streets lead from piazza to piazza and burst into the amazing bowl of the Campo with its fourteenth century Palazzo Pubblico. From here it is not far to travel to see the great treasures of Central Italy including Assisi home of St Francis, patron saint of today's eco movement in Italy. We spend leisurely days traveling the back roads to Tuscan villages where one hears the splash of a thousand-year-old fountain or the strains of a Puccini opera wafting from a small trattoria.

It is worth the trip just to experience the Grand Hotel Continental in Siena - a 17th century palace that has been recently restored to its former glory and is now, critics agree, one of the great hotels of Italy.
