Legend says that the Greek God Hercules loved a nymph called Amalfi and sought the most beautiful place in the world to immortalize her. He settled on the coast along the Bay of Naples. On this exploration of the Amalfi region we stay for ten nights in a traditional, four-star hotel in the lovely sea-side resort of Sorrento. From here we travel to explore the many historic sites, beautiful scenery and towns in the Bay of Naples region. The Amalfi Coast is a land of "everlasting spring", of bright colours, golden light, charming flower-filled villages. In April the temperature is mild, almond trees are in blossom, wild-flowers cover the hills and shops display tempting Easter confections. In mid-October the temperature in Southern Italy is usually a balmy 70 degrees and displays of autumn fruit in the markets are mouth-watering.
