About the Amalfi
Coast:
Ancient legend says that the Greek God
Hercules loved a nymph called Amalfi and when he sought the most
beautiful place in the world to immortalize her he chose
the coast along the Bay of Naples. In Roman times, this coast
was a resort for the Roman patrician class. They built lavish holiday villas
the remains of which we see at the fascinating
archaeological site of Pompeii.
On our walking holiday we enjoy marvelous views,
intriguing towns, fascinating archeological sites and, of course, great
Neapolitan
food.
About Walkers' World Amalfi Coast Rambles:
We stay for seven nights at a traditional, four-star hotel at the
edge of a small village called Sant Agata five km from the resort of Sorrento.
Views from the hotel are of the blue Mediterranean and of Mount
Vesuvius in the distance.
Our private bus takes us to the start of the walks and brings us
back at the end of the day. Guided walks show us the best of the
spectacular region.
