In Vaison-la-Romaine we stay at the exquisite Hostellerie Le Beffroi. This is an exquisite Inn from the 15th century located in the center of the restored medieval quarter of Vaison la Romaine on a medieval stone pedestrian street. Just above the hotel is a 12th century castle. The inn is filled with history and culture, with original stone floors and rooms full of character. Each comfortable room is in antique style but with modern facilities. The restaurant offers superb food and the outdoor courtyard restaurant is sublime on a warm evening.  The hotel has an outdoor pool with gorgeous views of Mont Ventoux and the town below. .

During our stay at Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, we use the newly built wing of the three star Hotel Les Nevons. It is located two blocks from the center of town in a quiet location on the edge of the sparkling Sorgue river.  Rooms are very large and comfortable with twin or queen-sized beds, air-conditioning, private bathroom with tub and shower and a private balcony with sliding glass doors overlooking the Sorgue River and the hotel gardens. There is a small rooftop pool. Breakfast is a buffet which includes the hotel's special home-made jams. Dinners are taken at a variety of local restaurants including one which is highly rated with the local food connoisseurs.  www.hotel-les-nevons.com

In Avignon we stay one night (the final nights) at the Mercure Pont d Avignon. It is a good three star hotel just outside the medieval walls of the old city. For the Lower Provence tour May 16 we our final night is at the Hotel Ibis Pont d Europe in Avignon. This hotel is well located just outside the old city walls.
Our farewell dinner is taken at a restaurant within the old city. When the tour ends on Saturday morning there is easy access to trains departing for Paris.

Breakfast is a buffet with fresh croissants, cereals and milk, toast, jam, coffee or tea and fruit juices.

Lunch is often a picnic and we stop along the way at a market or grocery store so participants can buy their own ingredients.

Dinners are three course menus at a variety of restaurants. Drinks are not included but there are lots of great wines available.

Vegetarian options are available - if you are vegetarian or have serious food allergies please let us know in advance so special arrangements can be made.
